Brewkery News August 2019 V2

Brewday, today we brewed the Nutt Brown the brew which first time started as a "Oh dear we haven't got a lot of pale malt so we will have to use the other malts which we have" brew. So as it has been well received we brewed it again to the same recipe of Pale, Amber, Chocolate, Black and Wheat malts with Equanot hops only this time we used the Hop Rocket so it will be more aromatic. OG was 1040 so we are looking at 4 to 4.5%.

Tasted last weeks bottling, carbonation already after 4 days and tasting OK but it does need at least another week to condition. Also tasted the Golden Ale and this was good, nice citrusy aromas and pleasing malt with a good bitterness.

We were visited by fellow Beer Sommelier Cheryl Cade who came to see what we are up to, she will be writing an article on The Equal Brewkery for Icini Magazine and possibly other magazines as well. She has posted on our Facebook page as well as other Norfolk Brewing pages so keep an eye out for these.

We will be bottling the Nutt Brown next week and then having a break until September. We have plans for a couple of beers to be produced for the Norwich Beer Festival in October, more details when we get brewing again in September.
